I've always wanted a car from Japan. I grew up wanting to drive a 1996 World Rally Blue Subaru STi like Colin McRae. However, my 10 year old self never realized 1996 STi's barely exist in the US. It took a while, but I finally understood that the US doesn't particularly like any cars from Japan (at least the old ones). I ended up 'settling' for a 2005 WRB STi (the one in the picture), and I love it to death, but that desire still burns inside of me. This desire spreads beyond STi's. RX-7's, GTR's, Fairlady's, I dream of them all. Before now, I've only been able to dream of owning one of the great Japanese cars of the early 1990's, and since I'm not willing to fork over an extra ten grand for a car to fit DOT and EPA standards, the glorious 25-year rule is my savior, and now it's yours.
The 25-year rule makes importing a 1991 (or older) vehicle affordable, but without proper knowledge the system can tear you apart. That's where we come in.
