A Childhood Dream

Being a rally icon, many children grow up looking at STi's with a mud slinging passion. Sure, other cars are faster, but to a kid playing Gran Turismo, there was no contest. The Rally STi with the famous yellow shining stars seemed like it could do anything.

This is how Elias felt when he was 10 years old, and that's how he feels to this day.

Why is this your dream?
"STi's are commonly bought because of their sports car feel (and power), but their sedan body and functionality usually sets them aside for a particular kind of driver. Some drivers like the AWD/turbo combination, but other drivers need a car with a little more room. I'm a combination. I've always loved the rally look, rally feel, and the overall style STi's and Subaru has a whole."

(and my dog likes it)

"I like rally look, and the sleeper look grew on me. I couldn't say no to either"
With the traditional STi wing and 2.5 RS wingless trunk, this STi can hold many personalities. Eli ended up buying the wingless trunk, instead of trading, after being unable to part with his beloved wing. Usually changing seasonally, this STi can go from rally to sleeper in roughly an hour.

With big plans for the future, this STi has been taken care of more than modified. With additions every now and then, this STi has been slowing changing over the past 4 years. Never raced, never broken, and no tickets. Some would say that's it's a waste of a perfectly good car, but we disagree.
In fact, this is Eli's first car and only car. He was learning to drive stick while learning how to drive at all, and he was doing this all in his STi. We're still surprised this car made it through high school, but Eli says that he has treated his car with "the respect it deserves".

"It's supposed to be driven hard every now and then, but it's still a Subaru. I'm going to watch my car last until it gets 200,000 miles, and then I'm going to replace the engine and watch it last 200 more."

Some dreams are like a trip to Disney World; amazing, breathtaking, and lasts a short while. However, there are some dreams that are life long. Dreams that you want to keep with you until they're old and falling apart.

This is one of those dreams.

A woman saying she was your mom saw my car in Wrightsville Beach today and stopped to take a picture of it. She told me your name and about this site so I looked it up.

Yours looks good. I'm going to keep mine forever too.
